Duterte to accept any verdict, reaches out to rivals

In an exclusive interview with CNN Philippines on Monday evening, Duterte said he won't "speculate" and "invest emotions" on what the results ultimately will be.

"I will happy to accept any verdict the Filipino will give us," he said. "I am not a pessimistic, [but] I always, in my years of a politician, I always count on God, I defer to God, and always my answer, it has always been, if it is my destiny to be there, I will accept it."

"This is a democracy and we have to obey the will of the people," he added.

Duterte also reached out to his presidential rivals, saying it is a "time for healing."

"I would like to offer my hand of friendship," he said. "If you accept it, fine. If you don't, there always a time for everything, for reckoning and a time to regroup."

The PPCRV is an election watchdog and the citizen’s arm of the Commission on Elections. It bases its count on official results sent to its server.
