Israeli and Lebanese officials resume talks in Rome, local media says
Delegations from Israel and Lebanon have started a third round of negotiations in Rome, according to Italian media, after renewed Israeli strikes led to a temporary delay in talks.
The US-mediated discussions ended earlier than expected on Wednesday, after the Israeli military escalated attacks in Lebanon – accusing the militant group Hezbollah of violating a tenuous ceasefire deal.
CNN has reached out to Italy’s Foreign Ministry and the White House for comment.
