16 January 2017 – While efforts to fully implement a ceasefire in Syria continue, senior United Nations humanitarian officials today appealed for immediate, unconditional, and safe access to reach the children and families who are still cut off from relief aid across the Middle Eastern country.

“We must not let 2017 repeat the tragedies of 2016 for Syria,” said a joint statement signed by World Food Programme (WFP) Executive Director Ertharin Cousin, UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) Executive Director Anthony Lake, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Stephen O'Brien, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Margaret Chan, and UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi.

22 December 2015 – In its first resolution on Syria since granting the United Nations an enhanced role in seeking to end the five-year-long war, the Security Council today demanded that all parties, particularly the Syrian authorities, immediately open routes across conflict lines and borders to let in vital humanitarian aid.

 THE ISSUE TODAY IS THE RUSSIA NOW JOINED IN SUPPRESSING ISIS IN AIR STRIKES

SUPPORTING SYRIAN REGIME OR GOVERNMENT TODAY AGAINST ISIS.  THE RUSSIA IS IN FULL SUPPORT INCREASING ARMAMENTS OF SYRIAN GOVERNMENT FORCES AGAINST THEIR ENEMY PARTICULAR TO ISIS.  THERE ARE ISSUES RAISE IN THE RUSSIAN JET FIGHTERS OF NO TACTICS IN THE MISSION AGAINST ISIS.  ANY CRITICISM AND ARGUMENT REGARDING THIS MATTER BY THE OTHER PARTY AGAINST ISIS SUPPRESSIONS AND IN ONE SIDE THEY MUST THINK THAT THEY HAVE TO BE COMBINED STRONG IN FIGHTING ISIS SO THAT TO DEFEAT THEM AND NOT TO MAKE CONFLICTS AS ALLIED AGAINST ISIS.

Russia conducts first airstrike in Syria

Washington (CNN)Russia has conducted its first airstrike against ISIS in Syria, a Russian Defense Ministry spokesman said Wednesday.

The airstrike targeted ISIS military equipment, communications centers, vehicles and ammunition, Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said, as part of pinpoint strikes against ISIS ground targets.

Security Council deplores latest terrorist attacks in Afghan capital

9 August 2015 – The United Nations Security Council on Sunday strongly condemned the series of terrorist attacks that have taken place in the Afghan capital, Kabul, since last Thursday and resulted in hundreds of casualties and at least 70 deaths, including children. 

“The members of the Security Council expressed their deep sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims of these heinous acts and to the Government of Afghanistan. They wished the injured a speedy recovery and underlined the need to bring the perpetrators of these deplorable acts to justice,” said a statement issued to the press.

THE ENVOY TO SYRIA HAS TO BE CAREFUL AND BE GOOD IN ANALYZING THE CONFLICTS AND THE SOLUTIONS TO MOVE AND MAKE FOR ADVISE THE UN SECURITY COUNCIL AND THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY TO DO TO ATTAIN HIS 5 YEARS FORECAST OF DEFEATING ISIS AND DAESH.  BUT NEVER FORGET TO SERVE PEACE OFFERINGS OR PEACEFUL SOLUTIONS TO THEM TO END THIS CONFLICTS ALWAYS AS IT WILL SERVE FOR THE BENEFITS OF LIFE OF EVERYONE TO SAVE IN PEACEFUL SOLUTIONS.  THE FORCE OF TERRORISM HAS NO PLACE IN THIS WORLD THAT HAS TO DEFEAT AND STOP TO ALL WHO WILL USE THIS TACTICS IN THEIR WAR WHICH THIS MOVE IS NOT RESPECTING ANY PERSON JUST TO ESTABLISH AND GET THEIR INTEREST.

30 July 2015 – The Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, has been tasked with reinvigorating an inclusive political process towards ending the crisis in the country, based on the aims set out in the 2012 Geneva Communiqué, which was adopted by the first international conference on the issue and has been endorsed by the UN security Council. 
 
During the tragic arc of Syria’s conflict, some 220,000 people have been killed, more than one million have been injured, 7.6 million have been displaced and four million people have sought refuge in neighbouring countries, according to UN estimates.
Mr. de Mistura has described the Communiqué as a ‘roadmap' towards agreement on a new Syria. Among other points, the document calls for the establishment of a transitional governing body, with full executive powers and made up by members of the present Government and the opposition and other groups, as part of agreed principles and guidelines for a Syrian-led political transition.
